I was off at the tip of Singapore today for a Malay wedding, something I’ve never been to for a good two decades of my life, mainly because I never had any Malay friends let alone any that were due to marry.
Dinner was held at this beautiful restaurant by the sea at Changi. We finished dinner just in time for the sun set and watched planes fly by as the bride took photos with family and friends. We (roomie, my sister’s friends and I) were there because the bride was a close friend of my sister’s and knew us for a pretty long while so she invited us. We didn’t think we were all too important to get the first few photographs so we decided to take our own with the scenery while waiting.
We decided to dub ourselves as the ‘Not So Important People’ group but really, it was just an excuse to camwhore some more. How could we not? It’s not everyday you aren’t surrounded by the concrete jungle.
And of course my favourite picture of the day that is on my instagram. Even though we all tried to help my sis clean up everything and was really tired at the end of the day, we still had a ton of fun. Great to spend time with family, though most of the time they piss me off big time.
We all got a small box with an egg inside from the wedding, very much like a door gift at Chinese weddings. It turned out to be a salted egg, which took me by surprise but I ate it anyway (I happen to love salty things as well, if you know what I mean.) and savored the yolk. Guess who isn’t allowed to have anything with cholesterol for the next two days? I feel my arteries clogging up already.
Either way, I’m happy that the day is over and was well spent. Looking forward to my job interview(s) next week and that I’ll be able to land one of them!
Back to the work force!
