Chapter Two

In case no one knows, this is how my hair is now. It looks quite okay now, but this is after at least 15minutes of blow drying my fringe alone. Also, I look like my secondary school self. Something I’m not sure how to feel about.

Met a couple of my good poly friends today for dinner. Life really sucks when you’re vegan. I felt bad because I couldn’t eat majority of the things at Serangoon Garden, especially the two ice cream cafes there.
Note to self, get there earlier if you want seats at Chomp Chomp and eat all the ice cream you humanely can when you break fast, Cherie.

Eventually we sat down for prata and I had a jumbo sugarcane drink while we caught up with each other. Thanks to them, I remembered that my graduation ceremony is in May, only when they asked me because they wanted to come down.

Seriously going to miss these guys. Meeting up has been hard since both are serving nation service now and it’s about to get harder because..

Tomorrow (or in a few hours) I’m starting a new full time job, this time in FnB. Yup, I’m finally putting myself out there again. Been sort of moody the past few days because of this since I see it as losing my freedom and possibly my soul to it. Bad experiences while working does this to you.

Hopefully it will be a job I can stay long on for experience!

Wish me luck!

My Life is Over

This post is exactly as the title states. My life is most definitely over, not that I managed to live a good one anyway.

By life I do mean playing all day and skipping all lectures, doing things I can only do while I’m in school such as not sleeping, doing homework and gaming all day. Now, I barely have any of the above and am scarcely clinging onto my gaming life.

With all that said, I have somehow completed the first part of job training with the above folks. I’m not sure how I did it but I’m here now, a rather good example of time waits for no one and will run you over if you decide to idle away, especially if you decide to get in its way (such as get a time constraint job).

I’m so blessed to always run into awesome people in my life, people who expose me to new cultures and lifestyles; people who convince me that there are so many ways to live life and that no matter where and who you are, you can end up anywhere.

And as much as I hated all the theory and exam based training, I’m so damn glad I made it through without quitting half way all thanks to these lovely people who were always patient with me.

Turns out that failing one General Insurance paper and still pressing on has been worth it after all because after training, I’ll be posted to night banking, which means I get to wake up late. Not to mention my location is really near to my house.

That is, of course, till I get transfered to a branch a little further sometime next year but I’ll enjoy what I have now!

Within the month I got ‘shipped’ or paired with someone in office so this was a mandatory picture. I guess.

Best part is that on my actual first day at work, manager let us off super early and we went off on our merry way for a really long lunch before officially dispersing into our respective branches the next week.

Branch attachment is this month! I hope I make it out alive and learn lots!!!

Cheers to no more life!

Working it to Kinect

I like my games, I really do.

But I love my rhythm games, I really, really do. I don’t know how I haven’t gotten my hands on a Kinect to get to Dance Central or Just Dance over the years but just recently, I managed to and for FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE~

I’ve never exactly played with an actual Kinect in my life, only watch Youtube videos on it, just like what I did with the PS4 and the Nintendo DS evolution. I know. My gaming life, as I’d like to call it, is rather pathetic.

WHICH.IS.WHY. Or at least what,

Makes this post so damn important, because it shows my very first experience with a Kinect. That’s right. I’m making history (for myself) over here.

The first video was my very first try at the game, Just Dance (?) and we were so confused but I think we got better in subsequent rounds. I can proudly say that all the songs we played we only played once, meaning the videos filmed was our very first time trying the songs. Not too shabby, I say.

I hope my future self finds this as amusing as I did.

Eco-Office Presentation Ceremony 2014

So… I’m really late posting this up because this kind of happened last month (LOL) but I was too busy to post anything. Honestly, I’ve been too busy to do anything at all but that’s for another post altogether.

Funny sorry, I actually had more pictures than this in my phone but I accidentally deleted them before I uploaded everything onto wordpress so now I’m left with these few. 😦

Oh well. For memory’s sake, I guess.

We had a running joke going on that the corporate tee made us all look like nurse, cleaners, ITE students (me) and carpark attendants.

Like if you agree 😡

Wine by The Woods and Co.

Recently, I went out with my ex-office for some wine tasting :>

I know nothing about wine, neither do I know much about hard liquor. Honestly, I was there just to see everyone again. Not to mention, I get to sit in a posh restaurant, so double yay!

We started with a bottle of Rose and a platter a cheese tasters (?), which consisted of sharp cheddar, olives, grapes, crackers and blue cheese.

I don’t know what it is about me, but I love blue cheese. People in the office were trying to link it with the fact that I also like smelly tofu, which is deep fried fermented tofu with preserved cabbage, but they ain’t got nothing on me. I don’t know what it is about blue cheese that makes me love it so fracking much. The smell doesn’t bother me at all and the taste is well, amazing.

My colleagues say it tastes sour and rotten just like it smells, but to me it it’s actually really tasty and yummy. Smoky in flavor, even. Creamy and smooth, you’ve got to really taste it to believe it. It’s not like your normal cheddar cheese that you can bite chunks of, it’s something you got to savor bit by bit.

Oh and here’s me taking a stab at being a total wine-snob.

Cheese and wine goes so well.

I know! Who knew, right? (・∀・)

Anyway, everyone was too hungry to snap pictures of the food. We dug in straight away. Besides, the food weren’t the star of the show and sorry to say, it wasn’t all that good. Unless you’re talking about the cheeses.

A few glasses of Rose, Ice Wine and Sauvignon Blanc later, it was safe to say we were all loosened up. Cameras were broken out and all hell broke loose(or maybe not. We’re peaceful people.).

Say hello to the Eco-Ladies! Well, I’m not exactly included anymore, but I was interning with this department. My supervisor is just beside me and there’s the equally important colleague of ours that I like to think of as Assistant Supervisor. Hehehehe…

Best shot of the day 😀

Cleavage. I know everyone was thinking it. Nothing to see, nothing to see. Let’s get a move on.

IMG_0204 IMG_0205 IMG_0206 IMG_0207 IMG_0208 IMG_0209 IMG_0210 IMG_0211 IMG_0212 IMG_0213 IMG_0214 IMG_0215 IMG_0216 IMG_0218 IMG_0219 IMG_0220 IMG_0221 IMG_0222

I thought we all looked like secondary school kids in this picture. You know, with the kiddy art pieces hung in the background to make up the atmosphere.

IMG_0223 IMG_0224

We all had a few more drinks that weren’t necessarily wine or water and everyone went crazy. This isn’t the craziest picture because our high kind of died down a little too soon after it began.

IMG_0225 IMG_0227 IMG_0153 IMG_0157 IMG_0160 IMG_0161 IMG_0162 IMG_0163 IMG_0165 IMG_0166 IMG_0168 IMG_0169 IMG_0170 IMG_0171 IMG_0174 IMG_0176

Okay, I lied. There are a few crazy photos.

IMG_0178 IMG_0179 IMG_0180 IMG_0181 IMG_0183 IMG_0184

They aren’t drunk or tipsy. They’re just… always like this.

IMG_0185 IMG_0186 IMG_0187

How you like me pimpin’

IMG_0188 IMG_0189 IMG_0191  IMG_0193

While we started to calm down, we finally got to chit-chat. You know, the usual ‘How’s things going?’ and ‘So Cherie, what are you doing now?’ kind of thing. Well, my days idle at home had been quite…eventful so I shared it with them.

I’ve never heard so much laughter in my life and I couldn’t help laughing with them. Alcohol probably played a part in everything, but I ended up having a rocking good time. (‘:

I can’t believe that a whole semester before this, I was dreading internship like it was the end of the world. It turned out to be the exact opposite. If it makes any sense, more than opposite and I’m so thankful (:

More updates soon! Last I heard, they’re organizing a potluck and I’m baking cupcakes.

Off to the Private Bakery!
